NFL Case Study: Increasing Clubs' Awareness.
Before the beginning of the 2016 NFL season, our team was commissioned to provide recommendations on how NFL clubs can raise their national profile and reach. We designed appropriate metrics and collected data from a variety of sources, including digital social media, for quantifying the awareness of each of the 32 NFL clubs. We identified that the two most strongly correlated factors with awareness are the on-field performance and the presence of the clubs on linear broadcast. Given the changing habits of millennials, we provided a detailed recommendation on how the league can capitalize on streaming and social media to increase the awareness of the clubs, which consequently translates to increased revenues.
